Though implant-supported dentures require a multi-step placement process, they can last a lifetime. Dr. Michael will walk through each stage of the procedure with you to ensure you are comfortable and satisfied with each phase of your treatment.
To begin treatment, we place titanium dental implants in the jaw. Your jaw and mouth will need to heal for several months to ensure the implants have successfully grown into your bone tissue. Dr. Michael can recommend diet and rest recommendations to ensure a healthy recovery. During this time, we can modify your existing dentures so you can wear them with the implants. Once the implants have fully integrated with your jaw, we place small caps (called abutments) on the top of the implants. The abutments help your new dentures stay secure in your mouth and allow for an easy “snap-off” removal.
